5 Must Ride Motorcycle Destinations in the U.S.

With the summer just around the corner, the hunger to ride has never been stronger! Thankfully we live in the best country in the world to hit the open road. From the East Coast to the West, our diverse landscape provides endless miles of adventure. The list of mind-blowing locations is endless but we’ve boiled it down to 5 of our favorite must ride destinations.

Tail of the Dragon - We’ll start things off close to home with this winding ride through the southwestern tip of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and some of Tennessee’s most picturesque landscapes. Stretching a modest 11 miles, this short stretch of road packs in 318 curves and a whole lot of exhilaration! You’ll find that these meticulously maintained roads are smooth sailing the whole way through. Just be mindful of the sharp shoulders and hairpin turns. Easy does it when you're riding this dragon’s tail!

The Blue Ridge Parkway - Stretching through Virginia and North Carolina this slow burn, that has a speed limit of 45 mph, is the ideal ride to relax and take in the jaw-dropping scenery. With 469 miles of well kept highway, this mellow ride is ideal for beginners and those who just want a long ride to clear their head. A couple top highlights of the trip is the interesting little town of Asheville, North Carolina, which is home to the Biltmore Estate or the unbelievable collection of rare motorcycles at the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley.

Natchez Trace Parkway - This 400+ mile journey through Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi might just be our favorite long ride. With an endless amount of changing vegetation, sights and history, you can understand why it’s so special. It's also a nice mild ride for those riders that are just starting out or for those that just want to enjoy a stunning stretch of open road to collect their thoughts. Weary bikers have lots of options to pull over and put up their feet at one of the many biker-friendly B&B’s or hotels.

Going to the Sun Road - Although this spectacular ride can be completed in less than 2 hours, it’s recommended to make as many stops as possible to take in the astonishing scenery that Glacier National Park and Montana have to offer. One of the must sees is Logan Pass, which is the highest point and provides unrivaled views. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including mountain goats, bighorn sheep and even grizzly’s. If you’re looking to stretch your legs a bit, take the short hike to Hidden Lake!

The Twisted Sisters - Everything’s bigger in Texas, right? Well that can definitely be said for the scenery in Texas Hill Country. You’ll find this beauty of a ride about an hour outside of San Antonio. Cutting through about 130 miles and a trio of ranch roads, this rollercoaster of a ride will give you shots of adrenalin as you round hairpin turns and roll through the high stretching hills. Considered to be a quiet ride with little traffic, it’ll give you the chance to pull off and snap a few photos of the “out of this world” landscapes.

These are only 5 of our favorite rides throughout the country and are only a drop in the bucket as to what is out there. No matter where you find yourself in this vast and beautiful country that we call home, there’s no doubt that there’s a little slice of paradise somewhere nearby.
